Why a key costs more on Steam
The Mann Co. Store sells a key for $2.49 (regional prices elsewhere). On the Steam Community Market players set the price, but the seller receives about 15% less (5% Steam fee plus 10% game fee), and the money stays in the Steam wallet, which cannot be withdrawn.
